For those that missed the Tennessee Titans play the Minnesota Vikings last Sunday, Backup running back Javon Ringer suffered an injury, and the early prognosis was that he had suffered a torn ACL and was likely to miss the entire season. Fortunately for Ringer, after being further diagnosed it was revealed that it was actually a torn MCL; an injury that carries with it only a 4-6 week recovery time.
“It’s definitely a big relief. They said my ACL and my PCL are still intact. They said they got dinged a little bit, but aren’t torn. Right now, I just have to get it to calm down from the swelling and everything, and then just work on the rehab and get the strength back in it. I’m happy. I’m taking it as a blessing that it’s not as bad as I guess what it looks like, even though I didn’t see it. I heard it looked pretty bad.” – Javon Ringer
Ringer has not been giving many opportunities this season, especially in light of the Titans lack of commitment to the run. He has 2 carries for 14 yards on the season. Seeing as how the Tennessee Titans have not had to dig very deep in their running back rotation, his absence will most likely not affect the team considerably.
