NFL Referees Lockout Comes to End As Terms Are Met

Proof of a God arose last night as the NFL team owners finally got a deal done with the real referees, bringing an end to what has been the biggest officiating circus in NFL history.

After a big fiasco on Monday Night Football this past week, social media exploded, essentially forcing owners to get a deal done. One of the biggest deals holding the talks back was apparently the retirement package.

per the Chicago Tribune:

According to reports, the pension issue was resolved with the existing defined-benefit plan remaining in place for five years until the officials are rolled over into a 401(k) plan.

As a Titans fan, I consider this quite the blessing. Some tried to downplay the awfulness of these refs, but I wasn’t one of them. The refs missed calls/messed them up in every one of the Titans games. In the game against the San Diego Chargers, they missed two running into the kicker penalties. If you follow me on Twitter, you saw them.

The regular refs make the occasional mistake; to error is human. What the replacement refs have been doing has been inexcusable, repeatedly making multiple mistakes in every game.

The regular refs may not be perfect, but I for one am excited to have them back.
