Week 3 of the NFL season is in the books and the teams in the AFC South have some new power rankings heading into the fourth week. Most of the teams find themselves in a rather sad position, but one is a shocker, though well deserved.

Here they are:

1. Houston Texans (3-0)

Yup. The time of making fun of the Texans has finally come to an end. They have what is probably the best defense in the NFL and and offense that does pretty well too. The Titans are going to have a heck of a time playing them in Houston this next week. Their ranking kind of says it all.

24. Tennessee Titans (1-2)

It’s a hard thing to swallow. The Titans looked like they’d actually be a pretty good team headed into this season, but things have looked far different. They did have a heck of a game against the Lions this last week but there were still plenty of glaring problems.

They’re headed into Week 4 and Chris Johnson has under 50 yards rushing through the first three weeks. They aren’t serious contenders for anything if they can’t get their run game figured out.

30. Jacksonville Jaguars (1-2)

The AFC South isn’t looking so hot anymore, is it? Gabbert continues to struggle, though MJD had a nice showing this last week. The Jaguars tough defense from last year seems to have tapered off. It certainly doesn’t help that they aren’t getting much help from their young WR Justin Blackmon. I’m guessing they hoped for more when they traded up for him in the draft. The season is still plenty young, though.

31. Indianapolis Colts (1-2)

The Luck era is underway and though it looks good, their defense obviously still has a ways to go. Even after last year, it’s still weird seeing the Colts slum it up at the bottom of the league, though they are one above the Browns. Strange to think that their one win came against the Minnesota Vikings, who recently beat the San Francisco 49ers.

I guess that’s the NFL for you.

It’ll be interesting to see how these change after this next week. I don’t see the Texans dropping any, though I wish I could say the same for the Titans.
