Tennessee Titans Cut Two More as Britt Returns, Lutui Signs

The Tennessee Titans have cut two more players as star WR Kenny Britt returns from suspension and due to the depth signing of OG Lutui. The two unlucky Titans were backup OT Troy Kropog and DE Pannel Egboh. Kropog isn’t so much of a surprise as is Egboh, who had been receiving first-team snaps much of the offseason.

That leaves the Titans with four defensive ends: Kamerion Wimbley, Derrick Morgan, Keyunta Dawson, and rookie Scott Solomon.

Apparently they’re okay with those numbers. One also has to take into account that Gray has spoken of using Ayers to rush the QB more, so he’s has split duties between OLB and DE.

Hopefully it is also an endorsement of the rookie DE Solomon as well. Solomon saw a little bit of playing time on Sunday but didn’t make much of a splash. That was a similar story for most of the Titans rookies.

Egboh is not eligible to be brought back to the Titans practice squad, according to Terry McCormick of Titans Inside, but Troy Kropog can.

New G is a big boy, Egboh getting cut makes our need at DE even more drastic

Yeah, Tutui is about 324 or 330 and 6’4. I’m bummed to see Egboh gone. I liked the guy. Be interesting to see how things play out for our DE’s this year. No Dave ball. This is the year of a bunch of unproven DE’s, so hopefully one proves himself.
