Today was the second day of the Tennessee Titans being on the field and the first one open to the public. Jake Locker had an impressive showing, strengthening the argument for him to start over veteran Matt Hasselbeck.
Twitter notes:
In team drills today, Hasselbeck was 6 for 11 with a pick, and Locker 10 for 14 w no picks. #Titans

#Titans QB Matt Hasselbeck worked first in 7 on 7 and team drills. Hasselbeck was a perfect 7 of 7 in 7 on 7. Jake Locker was 4 of 7

WR Kendall Wright still remains unsigned, though there is hope the deal will get done within the next few days. It’s too early in the season for people to start saying that Locker is better than Hasselbeck just because of one practice, but I suspect some fans will start piping up with that now.
Keep calm.
Locker may be better than Hasselbeck, but one practice is nothing to point at, especially one without pads. The Titans said they’d like to figure out who will be the starting QB by the third preseason game. That leaves a lot of time for things to change and plenty of room for competition.
I’m waiting to see more competition at the other positions, specifically OLB, DT, CB, and the o-line.
