Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean has reported that the Tennessee Titans and Atlanta Falcons have agreed to hold a joint practice August 6th in Dalton, Georgia during training camp.
Via the Tennessean:
The practice will take place on August 6 at 4:30 p.m. (Eastern) at Coahulla Creek High School, and will be free and open to the public. The teams will practice once in full pads.
Titans Coach Mike Munchak and Falcons Coach Mike Smith had been working on details of the arrangement for some time before finalizing plans on Thursday morning.
Munchak, set to begin his second year with the Titans, said earlier this offseason he was interested in working with another NFL team during training camp, but acknowledged rules related to the new Collective Bargaining Agreement might make it difficult.
The Titans have previously held a joint practice with the Arizona Cardinals after their preseason game against the Cardinals. The Falcons barely squeaked out a victory over the Titans this past year as they topped them 23-17.
I’m personally a fan of any extra time you can get against any other team. You just can’t get the same kind of work playing against your own teammates as you can going up against an entirely different team.
