The Tennessee Titans will be releasing TE Daniel Graham according to multiple sources, including Jim Wyatt and Adam Schefter.
This news isn’t too surprising to me, though I had expected it to come sooner. Graham was brought in to help out as a blocking tight end but cost the Titans more than he helped them. Graham was often on the wrong side of penalties, being guilty of holding more often then not. He also only accounted for two catches, one of which was the game winning touchdown against the Denver Broncos.
Craig Stevens has shown he can be a solid receiving and blocking tight end, which is why he received a contract extension this offseason. Jared Cook also appears to be emerging from his shell and the Titans added a potential laden tight end in the draft.
There’s just no room for an expensive, older tight end who’s not living up to his contract.
