Well news hasn’t exactly picked back up to super speed, though there are a few stories floating around the AFC South. Unfortunately, there don’t seem to be a lot of happy ones.
- The Jaguars first-round pick that they traded up to get, the ever so lovely WR Justin Blackmon, was arrested for an aggravated DUI Sunday when he blew a .24… and that’s not an error. It’s shocking to see a high profile person so intoxicated and willing to drive. Why not just get a ride from the overflow of numbers in his phone or a taxi? On the same level, what friend lets someone ingest that much alcohol and then drive away? Either way, I’m just glad it’s not a Titan making the poor choices this time. Britt’s offseason last year was enough for a lifetime.
- My favorite Tennessee Titan ever, Mr. Eddie George, is also feeling the hurt in this economy. The bank is trying to auction off his house. Through a series of difficult interactions with the mortgage company, George’s loan was foreclosed. It sounds as if he’s trying to stop the process, or at least delay it.
- The Colts are closing in on signing QB Andrew Luck. The Titans have yet to sign WR Kendall Wright, the Jaguars have yet to sign WR Justin Blackmon, and the Texans are still trying to sign DE/OLB Whitney Mercilus.
That’s most of today’s news from around the AFC South. I’m still hungry for more out of the Titans camp but until then, this shall have to suffice.
