The Tennessee Titans have been bringing in veteran CB’s even though they drafted CB Coty Sensabaugh with their fourth round pick in the 2012 NFL draft just a few short weeks ago. The Titans could be looking to add some players to stir up the competition and make sure they’ve got a healthy looking group at CB, which I think they do.
It could also be a warning sign for Ryan Mouton, coming off a torn Achilles injury, that his roster spot isn’t safe. Mouton underwhelmed greatly in his first year and didn’t see much action in his next season, due to the success enjoyed by then-rookie Alterraun Verner and the equally talented Jason McCourty. Mouton doesn’t have much going for him in terms of why the team should keep him headed into this next season. A lack of performance combined with a tough knee injury could mean the end of his time with the Titans.
Some of the veteran CB’s the Titans have brought in include Andre Goodman, Drayton Florence, and Drew Coleman. The first two are a little aged, being 33 and 31 respectively.
It’s at least something to keep an eye on. And during this quiet offseason time, it gives me something to talk about.
