Tennessee Titans Pick WR Kendall Wright With the 20th Pick

With the 20th pick of the 2012 NFL Draft the Tennessee Titans selected Kendall Wright of Baylor. I’m shocked by this and not happy with it at first. There was a lot of talent on the board. I hope they know what they’re doing.

I was right in guessing that if the Tennessee Titans did go receiver, they’d go early. I just don’t understand the pick right here. I thought that if they’d take a receiver they’d look at a larger target, such as Mohamed Sanu, Stephen Hill, or at least A.J. Jenkins.

I’ve definitely got some more tape to look at and stuff to read on Wright, not too mention actually seeing how the Titans decide to implement him into their offense.

Simple, another weapon besides Kenny Britt! I never thought they would draft a WR in the first round though.

Considering that DeCastro and other DE were available I was surprised at the pick. Wright is a good player but you can’t tell me that he was the highest rated player on the board at the time.

I’ll be curious to see how the rest of the draft goes for the Titans. All this pick tells me is that Nate Washington will be going back to the slot and Mariani may get cut.

@Drake Yeah. I was just hoping that if they did take a receiver they’d take a larger target. Prefer bigger targets to small WR’s that tend to get roughed up in the NFL

@eboyd I wouldn’t expect Mariani to get cut. He’s been a solid contributor as a return man. I don’t expect him to ever find his way into our starting line up but he’s the first returner we’ve had in a long time that’s done good work.

@jstitansized Smaller receivers are very fast though.

@eboyd He had to be the highest rated player or they wouldn’t have taken him. It is a little bit of a head scratcher but in the end we are making the offense stronger and more explosive….sounds good to me

@jstitansized @Drake being a smaller receiver he should fit nicely as our Z receiver, put in motion alot, crossing patterns, hitches, and a fair amount of go routes…another weapon offensively!

Terrible selection. I think this is a pick the Titans will live to regret. The draft fell perfectly there was major talent to be had at G and DE right there at 20 and we took a WR. I do not understand this selection at all.

You should have seen the chat room after the pick… Everyone was stunned.

@seagle1  @jstitansized  @Drake Also, Titansonline.com states that Kendall Wright played basketball his Freshmen year in College. So, if that is true, I see a mini Jared Cook already.

No what was really funny is that at first the NFL network said the Titans had traded down with the Patriots and I was about to jump for joy when then they said no oops we meant the Bengals. Right then I knew the Titans were about to do something bad lol.
