It’s almost been a year since the Tennessee Titans took Jake Locker with the 8th overall pick of the 2011 draft. I can’t believe how happy I am that the Titans took him. Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean wrote an article today that really hit home for me. He spoke of how weak the draft is for QB’s this year and how smart it was for the Titans to take Jake this past year.
I couldn’t agree more.
I would hate for the Titans to be picking at 20th this year and hoping to get their franchise QB. This years best quarterbacks include Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III. Because of a large demand for QB this year, Ryan Tannehill may even sneak into the top ten.
Thank God it’s not the Titans looking to make that move.
I won’t lie, I’m glad the Titans aren’t in the QB race this year and have Jake Locker ready and waiting. I’m not high on any of the QB’s in this class, save Luck, but he wouldn’t have fallen to the Titans at 20 anyways. Other than that, I couldn’t care less.
The Titans have a bright future awaiting them with Jake Locker on the side. Hasselbeck almost took them to the playoffs, missing by less than a game.
In 2010 Locker would have been the first pick of the draft but one year later the Titans were able to have him fall into their laps with the 8th pick.
You should be. We found a franchise a quarterback with the 8th pick. Whoever takes Ryan Tannehill in this draft will be reaching for support (I’m looking at you Dolphins) and most likely be wasting a very precious pick.
I’ll take Jake Locker over any prospect in this upcoming draft… any day.
