Tennessee Titans Defense Gets Better with Addition of Ball

Now we’re talkin. The Tennessee Titans continued to plug holes in their defense today by agreeing to a one year contract with Dave Ball.

Dave Ball has 11 sacks over the past two years for the Titans in a reserve role and looks to help solidify the defensive line rotation. Dave Ball succeeds in the league due to having a non-stop motor. He’s not the biggest, or quickest player but he never stops and he is a guy I will take on my team any day of the week. Apparently the Titans feel he can help the team as well. He can walk in and already be familiar with the facilities, he knows the defense, and he also knows the players. This is a great re-sign by the Titans and should allow them a bit more flexibility at the end of the month when they draft.

So now what? The Titans are now two deep at the DE position and although they may still need a young difference maker along the line, its not imperative that they take a DE in the first round of the upcoming draft. Now I know its only a one year deal but that one year deal takes a lot of pressure off of the Titans F.O. to make sure that they take a future a pass rusher with the 1st pick.

With Ball on board I would look forward to the Titans possibly taking the best player available at pick #20. The team just got better and the intrigue just got a bit thicker. Come on NFL Draft!
