Let’s End this Saint’s Bounty Talk

Here is part of the audio from Gregg Williams talking to the Saints before the 49ers game that the Saints would lose in the playoffs. Everyone’s talking about it and the news is everywhere. Seems as Gregg Williams was once the defensive coordinator for the Tennessee Titans I thought I’d put a little post on it.
In my opinion, people are blowing this out of proportion.

Forewarning: This clip contains profanity and is not appropriate for all ages.

Yes it can sound a little crazy at some parts, but that’s just the way sports work. Anyone who has played can tell you that. When you’re in the locker room before a game and coach is talking to you, he’s not saying to go out there and give the other team a hug. He’s firing up his players, trying to get their adrenaline pumping and get them into a mindset to play a physical game. He’s telling them to go out there and knock the piss out of the other team, to let them know that you won’t be pushed around and that this is your game. It’s what coaches do. It’s their job.

Did Gregg cross some lines in that speech? Yes. Do I really care? No.

It’s football.
