Yesterday Jason Jones signed a one-year, $4 million deal with the Seattle Seahawks. It’s really surprising they were able to get him for such a cheap contract and that the Titans wouldn’t be able to agree to terms with him on something as cheap as that.
With Jones leaving, the Titans defensive line is getting even thinner. Today DE Mark Anderson of the New England Patriots is supposed to visit the Titans. If they are doing that, I hope they’re at least thinking of doing the same with Kamerion Wimbley. They are both 6-4 and approximately 255 lbs. Wimbley has been more consistent, though he has played at the LB position more since his transition to the NFL.
Though Anderson could be a great depth signing, the Titans need to get someone that they can start across from Derrick Morgan. How about bringing in both Wimbley and Anderson? We’ve only got one DE under contract right now and the Titans need to grab some solid players at that position. After missing out on Mario Williams, Jeremy Mincey, and John Abraham, the Titans can’t afford to miss out on the better DE’s that are left on the market.
Here’s to hoping Manning makes his choice soon so the Titans can get back to more important matters.
