The message is clear: Win now, not later. Yes free-agency has been only open for a little over three hours now and the Titans have yet to make any signings, outside of signing their own players back, but the Titans new off-season plan is now quite clear.
Ever since Bud Adams made his announcement of going all-in on Peyton Manning, the off-season plan of Webster, Reinfeldt, and Munchak has taken a turn that, originally, I don’t think anyone expected just a week ago.
The team has been reportedly in contact with Peyton Manning, Steve Hutchinson, John Abraham, Scott Wells, and Chris Myers. All of which are over the age of 30, but all are still considered above average players and viable starters.
It was believed the team would sign younger players to build around Jake Locker. Not saying these players wont be productive when Locker does eventually get his shot, but these signings all seem to be banking on the signing of Peyton Manning. In other words going all in and winning a super bowl within the next two years so that old Bud can give the finger to the entire NFL with the Lombardy trophy in the other hand.
