Indianapolis Colts to Cut Ties with Peyton Manning

After 13 seasons in a Indianapolis Colts jersey, Peyton Manning will be looking to wear a new one. The Colts have announced their plans to release Manning, ones that we’ve expected to hear for quite some time now. At 4pm today, his release will be official and he’ll be free to sign immediately with whomever he pleases.

As for us Tennessee Titans fans, it’ basically a giant sigh of relief. Manning has terrorized us for a long time and given us more than our fair share of heartbreaks. As unfortunate as it is for him to not be able to retire as a Colt, it feels pretty good knowing the Titans will never face another Colts team lead by that future Hall of Famer.

It’ll be interesting to watch some teams to scramble to grab him up out of free agency and to find out how healthy his throwing arm is. There has been speculation galore and a recently released video of him throwing at Duke University. Redskins, Dolphins, and the Seahawks could all be interested in acquiring his services.

Where ever he ends up, I wish him the best of luck. He may have terrorized me for years and I may loathe him as a Colt, but I’ll always respect him as a player of the game. I hope he can go out there and play well and end his career on his own terms, not everyone else’s.

The  Andrew Luck era is officialy underway. I expect him to be a good one, but at least, just  for now, he is not Peyton Manning.  The AFC South is wide open again this years. It will take some time for Luck to develop. So as last year, it will be between Texans and Titans.

@albertogonzalez Yup. Can’t wait to see some epic AFC South battles for years to come between QB’s like Jake Locker and Luck. Should make for quite the shows.
