Nike recently released their glove plans for all 32 NFL teams Vapor gloves for the upcoming season. They take after the gloves we’ve seen in college football from the likes of Oregon and Alabama. You can see the rest of the NFL’s gloves on NFLSpinZone.com.
The gloves are pretty cool, but I feel like Nike could have been a little more creative than they were with them. Putting the teams logo in the middle of the gloves just seems a little contrived (I can say that. I’m also an artist). What should they have done? I don’t know. It’s not my job, I just think they could have done better than just copying the same layout they used for college football. That being said, they’re still pretty nifty.
We’re all still anxiously awaiting the uniform changes. Word is that they won’t be too drastic, but after their little template has been up on the web with all it’s possibilities of uniforms, ones curiosity is definitely peaked. The South Florida Sun-Sentinal recently address that in an article. Here’s a interesting little excerpt:
Nike brand president Charlie Denson fueled that expectation in an interview with CNBC soon after the five-year deal with the NFL was announced in late 2010, saying, “We plan on changing the NFL jersey dramatically just like we’ve done with the college programs.”
An NFL spokesman downplayed that notion this week and pointed out that teams and the league determine their logos and distinctive markings, not Nike…
The NFL’s Nike jerseys will be unveiled in April. The draft could be the coming out party for Nike’s new line.
