Might this be the year that the NFL Pro Bowl is an exciting and competitive one? Odds are against that notion. Especially if you are a Titans’ fan. Pro Bowl voting has become a bit controversial, with somewhat undeserving players being chosen because of popularity over worthy players whose under-the-radar seasons go overlooked. There’s also the fact that, unlike in baseball, some teams may have no representative being sent to Honolulu. This year, that is the case for our beloved Tennessee Titans.
Cortland Finnegan and Rob Bironas are the main Tennessee Titans who have a case for being in Hawaii for tonight’s game. Finnegan had, arguably, his best season as a pro. While his numbers aren’t eye-popping, he consistently kept the other team’s best receiver in check, all while lining up in the slot in key situations. Bironas had the second best season of his career, in terms of kicking accuracy, hitting 29 of 32 field goals for a 90.6% clip, and nailing all 34 of his extra points.
The 2012 NFL Pro Bowl is on at 7 (ET) on NBC.
