Texans Defeat Titans, 41-7

In a game that saw the top two teams of the AFC South vie for the title lead, the Titans were unable to leave the game atop the rankings. As bad as the score seems, it unfortunately tells the story.

The Titans allowed RB’s Arian Foster and Ben Tate to combine for 219 yards rushing, with Foster adding two touchdowns. Fost also added over 100 yards receiving, thanks in large part to a 78 yard receiving touchdown.

Texans quarterback Matt Schaub threw for 296 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions looking largely unchallenged by the Titans secondary.

The Titans really never had an answer for anything the Texans did. On offense, the Titans struggled to run the ball (10 carries, 18 yards for Chris Johnson) and struggled to make an impact through the air as well, with Hasselbeck throwing two interceptions on a rough day passing in which he only completed 14/30 passes.

It was a tough game to watch for anyone pulling for the Titans. I’ll have more analysis on the game tomorrow.

It is time for Locker to take over. Hasselback has done all he can but he is over the hill. He put 4 games early in the season but is out of gas. The Titans probably aren’t going to the playoffs and keep trotting out Hasselback at this point is crazy.

Little early to pull the plug on Hass but i wouldn’t object to giving our overpaid running back a breather. Bottom line he ain’t producing, Harper and Ringer can’t do any worse than CJ has. Harper will at least run hard!

Well, players that been through a holdout never play good that following season. History says this!

i think it’s a little early for Locker. He could do well but why disrupt the leadership of the team early? Hasselbeck has played well, let’s give him more time than Rex Grossman

Yes but we are seeing a steady downward progression from Hasselbeck.. He played over his head in the early point. I know part of it is losing Britt but at what point do we need to call in Locker? Surely he can’t ride the bench all year long.

DavidMM – The entire issue is britt with hass, we have zero receivers beyond britt! they all are bad except washington and he is only good when britt is in. how would you like to be baltimore today? they have as many if not more offensive issues than the Titans, at least we got a first down in the first half!

honestly, this is a great discussion. I’ll write an article on my point of view on things and we’ll even put up a poll to get a wider perspective.

Look for it in the next two hours

It is and I guess I might be a little premature but I just don’t see the Titans in the playoffs. I think they Texans will stumble their way in and make it more by default then anything. Win the division with a 9-7 or 8-8 record. I am just ready to see what Locker has. We seen everyone play but him now. Look at all the great things rookie QB’s are doing this year.
