Starting quarterback Matthew Hasselbeck threw for his second-consecutive 300-yard effort to push the Titans to a 2-1 record, 2-0 at home. Running back Chris Johnson continued his streak of disappointing games with 13 carries for 21 yards (1.6 avg) while wide receiver Nate Washington continued to be on Hasselbeck’s good side, resulting in an 8 catch, 92-yard effort along with one touchdown.

The Titans won a close game today, but make no mistake, they earned it. There was the stop on 4th and goal, where the defense kept Broncos running back Willis McGahee from scoring. There was the late interception by linebacker Will Witherspoon, and, most importantly, there was the late game drive where Hasselbeck completed a 4-yard touchdown pass to tight end Daniel Graham (excellent off-season addition, as you can see).

Unfortunately, the Titans main offensive weapon (not Chris Johnson by a long shot) wide receiver Kenny Britt, may be out for a while. You can watch the play here. Britt caught a pass and was hit awkwardly on the left knee. Britt wasn’t knocked down but he did try to continue to run, this did not work. Britt’s leg folded underneath him and he went down. He was then carted off the field and no update is available. We will let you know as soon as we find out.
