It was the last game of NFL Scrubseason and the Titans won it.

If you’re excited, don’t be. The real stuff is about to start, but let’s quickly look over this game before Sept. 11, which can’t get here soon enough.

TN Titans (2-1) Defeat New Orleans Saints (2–1), 32-9

Matthew Hasselbeck connected on a deep pass with WR Nate Washington at the beginning of the game. This should ease your mind if you watched the game last week and saw how close those two were to connecting on TD’s.

Karl Klug continued his run of above-average play adding a sack for a safety. He’s an aggressive guy that the team should be happy with for a few years, at the very least.

Jake Locker’s statline is something to brag about: 15/17 for 132 yards and 1 touchdown. He also ran the ball, adding 39 yards and 1 touchdown on 3 carries. One of his plays involved newcomer WR Kevin Curtis. Locker’s TD run looked like he was at a track meet.

I forgot who, but one of the announcers craftily shared a new nickname: Jordan Big Play Babineaux. Maybe I missed where the nickname came from, but anyway,  Mr Big Play himself had an interception that was tipped about 4 times before he athletically twisted in the air to make the catch. It was impressive.

WR Lavelle Hawkins caught a 12-yd TD in the back of the endzone, where he hid behind the zone coverage of the Saints long enough for the mobile Jake Locker to scatter around and throw him a dart.

WR Damian Williams returned a punt for 52 yards and a touchdown. He was untouched.

Rookie RB Jamie Harper added 22 yards on 6 carries. While nothing flashy, I gather that the coaching staff knows Harper well enough that they didn’t need him to get a majority of carries for film study. The #3 back sits safely on the roster……this year.
