The Titans have begun releasing players today. The first to not make the cut have been veterans S Nick Schommer and DT Jovan Haye. Both of the positions have become quite crowded this preseason and have been in close battles. Jovan Haye added weight this pass offseason in hopes of better fitting in this new defensive scheme, but apparently the productivity from rookies Klug and Casey and free agent signing Shaun Smith has made Jovan Haye replaceable. This is a good sign of how the coaches feel about the d-line so far.

Other releases so far: QB Brett Ratliff, FB Patrick Hill, WR Owen Spencer, LS John Stokes, P Chad Cunningham, LB Kevin Malast, LB Jonathan Cornell
