Mike Klis, of the Denver Post, reports that the Denver Broncos have today released former Titans runningback LenDale White, who rushed for 15 touchdowns for the Titans in 2008 after starting all 16 games in 2007. This makes the third team to rid themselves of White, first the Titans through a trade, then the Seahawks with a release and now the Broncos with his second release. White’s story has taken an awful turn since being one of the crown jewels at Southern Cal.

White still remains in the recovery stages from a torn Achilles Tendon. The early reports out of Broncos camp had mentioned that White looked great early on and Klis brought up the fact that White had shown up to camp in great shape, reporting in somewhere around 230 lbs. For Titans fans, that comes as a surprise as White ballooned up close to 250 while with the Titans which led to some fans mockingly, yet creatively, nicknaming him ‘LenWhale’.

According to ESPN, White rushed for 10 yards on 4 carries against the Giants in week 1 of preseason action and obviously didn’t turn many heads with that performance. I guess we will wait and see what’s next for White while he surely hopes to salvage his career somewhere. Miami wouldn’t be the worst option with their restructured backfield, it would also pair White with former backfield mate Reggie Bush, both played together at Southern California in college.
