There have been a number of reports regarding Hasselbeck, but most lead to believe that the Titans were the only serious team that remained.
That is false. According to Pro Football Talk, Arizona, San Francisco, Tennessee and Miami are all taking a serious look at Hasselbeck.
Let’s go over these teams:
Are you serious? Sports Illustrated’s Peter King was deadset on Kolb getting used to the cacti, per his twitter last night. Then, Kyle Orton seems to be their number 2 plan.
Arizona is not serious
2. San Francisco
No way it is a starting position. New head coach Jim Harbaugh has hid nothing in way of his regard for former number 1 overall pick, Alex Smith. He wants him and he wants him to start. They also selected their QB of the future in Colin Kaepernick in this years NFL Draft. Before the end of the season, the fans will chant,”The FUTURE is Now”…..
Hasselbeck wants to go somewhere he can start.
San Fran is not serious.
The Dolphins apparently agree with their fans in their hatred of Chade Henne. Did you know that it is supposed to take 3-5 years to develop a QB?
Miami is probably a 6/10 on the serious scale, 10 being the most serious.
4. The Titans
As you all know, I think Hasselbeck would be an excellent fit here and I would rate the Titans at 8/10 serious. All seriousness would then be contract depending. Here is my article on Hasselbeck‘s history and why he would be good for this team.
Miami is the competition and they have a starter in place. Hasselbeck should see the situation and lean toward the Titans due to this team not having any real experience at the position. Remember, Jake Locker missed a lot of training because of that damn Lockout. It all comes down to the money. Hasselbeck is older and will make one last run at $$$$$. I can’t blame him.
