According to Rotoworld, who cites the Nashville Tennesseean, Titans defensive end Derrick Morgan is now able to “cut, run and jump”. This is excellent news as Morgan can work on turning the potential that saw him drafted in the first round into real effectiveness.
Morgan tore his ACL on October 3rd in a losing effort against the Denver Broncos.8 months later, he can work the surrounding muscles and begin to develop that area to be as strong as it was, if not stronger.
Here are some recent quotes in The Tennesseean from Morgan and trainer Chuck Smith:
“We have to stop the run first, then get to the quarterback,” Morgan said. “I’m excited. I have more of a mental grasp on the game after playing some last season. Now it is about developing that confidence to go out there and wreak havoc. That’s what I plan on doing.”
“He is working his butt off. Everything you could think of he’s involved in,” Smith said. “He has watched every Tennessee Titans game over the last three years, and watched film of all the tackles he’ll play against this year.”
The Titans will, no doubt, be better with Morgan on the line. Now, if they can just get Jason Babin resigned…..
