Defensive Line Coach Jim Washburn is gone.
Jim Wyatt tweeted that the Philadelphia Eagles made Washburn an offer the Titans could not match, in salary or future stability. This is a crushing blow to a blossoming Titan defensive front and is yet another Titan assistant coach that Jeff Fisher will have trouble replacing.
Jason Babin is a class act.
Wyatt also shared that Babin will be bringing along Washburn and his wife to the veteran’s first Pro Bowl. The Titans really need to figure out a way to re-sign this guy, especially considering his desire to stay in the powdered blue.
Kenny Britt promises a huge offseason.
This is great news for Titan fans. If Britt returns in shape and motivated to be the elite wide receiver he is capable of becoming, the sky is the limit. With Britt, Nate Washington, and Damian Williams the Titans do not need to hit a home run in their search for a quarterback.
Chris Johnson is heading to the Pro Bowl after all.
As far as the record books will show, CJ2K received invites to the Pro Bowl in each of his first 3 seasons in the NFL. A truly remarkable feat considering the Titans record during that stretch (27-21). If a player can consistently compete for an all-star spot on a .500 team, he is someone you need to appreciate with a long, healthy contract.
Michael Griffin, a Steelers fan?
Maybe not. But, if Troy Polamalu and the Pittsburgh Steelers reach the SuperBowl, Polamalu’s Pro Bowl safety roster spot would become vacant and Griffin would be first in line to book a ticket to Hawaii. Griffin is an elite safety and it would be nice to see him get some recognition for the quality season he turned in this year.
