Titan Sized Takes: Vin-sanity

Here are five Titan Sized Takes following the Tennessee Titan loss to the Washington Redskins.

NASHVILLE, TN - NOVEMBER 21: Quarterback Vince Young of the Tennessee Titans talks with a member of the training staff after leaving a game against the Washington Redskins at LP Field on November 21, 2010 in Nashville, Tennessee. 1. The playoffs are slipping away from the Titans. They are now in must win territory going forward, unless they plan to sweep their 5 remaining AFC South division games (unlikely with current lack of offense).

2. Vince Young’s tenure as a Tennessee Titan is officially on the clock. Do not expect to see #10 as a Titan next year.  The worst case scenario involves Bud Adams siding with VY over Jeff Fisher, but let’s not go there.

3. Mike Heimerdinger’s under-utilization of Chris Johnson in critical drives is inexcusable. An exhausted CJ > a fresh Javon Ringer.  Can ANY team prevent CJ2K from gaining 10 yards on 4 consecutive carries?  Late in the game, I doubt it.

4. If Donovan McNabb is available next offseason, the Titans should put in a claim for him. He still has enough left in the tank to stay competitive while they look for an appropriate successor (preferably through the draft).

5. Marc Mariani should be considered for rookie of the year and the Pro Bowl. No returner in the NFL this year is more consistent or more dangerous than the 7th round draft pick from Montana.  (A great selection by Jeff Fisher)
