Pretty catchy headline eh? Those of you who have been following my posts over the past couple of weeks know that I am a big fan of what Vince Young has been doing both on and off the field recently. This latest installment of “Giving Back to the Community with Vince Young” shines light on the efforts to repair the damage done by the severe flooding in Nashville this past week.
Jim Wyatt over at the Tennessean reports that Young is now raising money for flood victims. At this point you are probably thinking ‘gee Nick, that’s great for Vince and all, but how does that affect me?’ I am glad you asked. If you donate $100 to the relief efforts you will receive an autographed photo of Vince Young as well as a t-shirt. More information is available at Young’s website.
Here is Young’s statement from his site:
“Nashville has taken a beating from Mother Nature and the damage is unbelievable. People have lost their lives, their homes and their businesses. Billions of dollars in damage hit Middle Tennessee in just two days. We will rebuild stronger than before and we will take care of those most effected in our community. Nashville will be so beautiful again! Thank you for your support and prayers.”
I realize this might not be the most exciting story but on a day when Lawrence Taylor was arrested for his alleged rape of a 16-year-old girl I really needed to focus on something positive in the NFL and sometimes it can be hard to find. Keep doing what you are doing Vince!
