A couple of days ago, TitanSized’s own, Kellen Barton, made a point about not wanting to have to track down how many teams have made the playoffs after starting 0-3. It was more of a “let’s hope we don’t have to do this because we WILL WIN THIS GAME” type of statement, but now that 0-3 is a reality, here’s the stat (courtesy of the Charlotte Observer):
It has been 11 years since any team started 0-3 and made the playoffs. And since 1990, when the NFL expanded its playoff field to 12 teams, only three teams have survived 0-3 to reach the postseason [...]

When the Tennessee Titans go into Giants Stadium this Sunday, it will mark the second time in two years that a Titans-Jets match-up has much more importance than most would have thought coming into the season. Last year, the Titans entered Week 12 of the season with a league best 10-0 record and the New York Jets were making a legitimate playoff run with their (originally) un-retired QB, Brett Favre. When Tennessee “welcomed” the Jets to L.P. Field last season they were surprisingly on the top the NFL mountain; riding a backup quarterback, rookie sensation running back and stifling defense [...]
Owner of a Lonely Start…
As I(Lucas) sat down excitedly with my miniature corn dawgz and soda pop to watch the game, I felt like life couldn’t get much better. Unfortunately I could not have been more right. The ensuing game felt like a tumultuous romantic relationship, with unbelievable highs (thanks, CJ!), and fraught with confusing lows (Jacoby’s hot potato routine, Collins’ fumble, no defense). It was the sort of bipolar, masochistic experience that I used to believe was reserved for my Vandy games. These Titans are setting up to be a little like my ‘dores. They try hard, have their chances, then things just [...]
An Even Newer Addition
Yo yo yo! Ryan here. I’d like to announce another exciting addition to Titan Sized. World famous funnyman, published author and personal best pal Lucas Marcoplos and myself will hopefully be posting on TS at least once a week. I apologize for not posting this sooner.
PS…The UPS guy at my work wouldn’t bet against the Titan’s this week, and I’m pretty sure that’s a great decision on his part. I can’t believe we have to wait 10 days between games. Rambling, blah blah blah, here’s Lucas…
Things Lucas took from the game/broadcast:
1. They had Donnie Nickey wearing a Polamalu wig! I [...]
TitanSized’s Newest Addition…
Hi there. It’s everyone’s favorite, new Jr. Titan Sized correspondent Ryan Alger checking in (and no, I’m not the guy who gets dunked on by Patrick (Ch)Ewing in the Snickers commercial). I’m sitting on the couch watching Randy Moss pad the stats, and add to what has been the best fantasy football scoring week ever for me (thank you Mr. Brees).
But in the realm of non-fantasy football, it’s been a rough week for the only team that really matters to me, the Titans. The more I reflect on our coin-flipper of a loss to the Steelers, the more I think [...]
Titans/Steelers NFL Kickoff Live Blog
What up fam! In case you’ve been living under a rock for the past month or so, the NFL season kicks off TOMORROW NIGHT as the Tennessee Titans travel to Pittsburgh to take on the defending Super Bowl champs!!!! I can’t tell you how pumped up we’ve been around here for this re-match. I even went to the Titans Pro Shop today at LP Field and got myself a Chris Johnson jersey. Gotta get fresh for the upcoming season.
The Steelers got all huffy about a few Titans stomping on their little towels during their last meeting, and somehow, this matchup [...]
LenDale “Smash” White made national news today by informing the world that given the opportunity he would step on the terrible towel again. His words exactly:
If it happens to be there, I’m going to stomp all over that, man. If there’s a towel in the stands, I will stomp on it. I don’t care who gets mad. … If they throw a towel at me, I’m going to kick it and stomp all over it. If they don’t want their towel stomped on, keep it out my face.
Now normally I’m not a huge fan of unnecessary trash talking, and often [...]
Tonight the most complete picture yet of what happened to Steve McNair…
That’s how tonight’s broadcast of Dateline NBC started, but anyone watching the program tonight thinking they might learn anything new about the circumstances surrounding the death of Steve McNair was more than likely very disappointed. This would probably be because the show shed light on absolutely nothing. Pretty much everything that was presented on the episode was well documented and reported within two weeks of McNair’s death (by reputable sources- not just the internet “crazies”) , and anyone that paid attention to the case at all should ask NBC [...]
