A Trip to Steve McNair’s Gridiron9

Posted by: Nick Bishop

Hey everybody. Still not really sure what to say. I don’t think I can put how I’m feeling right now into words that are fit for this site. How the second greatest holiday of the year could turn so tragic and hit so close to home is beyond me. I’m still in shock, and I can speak for a lot of people that are as well. I think most people have an idea of what happened at this point, but I’ll hold off on speculating until we know something for sure. It’s all just so bizarre…

Well, in trying to cope, TitanSized and our trusty sidekick Artie decided to take a drive over to Girdiron9, the restaurant that Steve opened just a few short weeks ago. Located on Jefferson St. on the outskirts of the Tennessee State University, Gridiron9 has become somewhat of an informal memorial site for Steve since yesterday and we wanted to pay our respects on this damp Sunday. Of course, neither of us had a camera, but we did take some shots on the ole’ camera phone that I wanted to share. Sorry for the poor quality.

Obviously, there will be much more in the upcoming week(s) as this story continues to unfold. If you are a praying man or woman, send them out strong to the McNair family, especially his wife Mechelle and their four boys. And if you have any thoughts or memories of “Air McNair” that you would like to share, please feel free to comment. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday night and have a nice Monday.
