Titans re-sign Collins and Fuller

While the big news of the day was the loss of DT Albert Haynesworth in free agency to the Washington Redskins, the Titans were able to re-sign starting QB Kerry Collins and nickle back Vincent Fuller. The Collins deal was closer to what we thought it would/should be (2 years/$14-15 million) and Fuller’s deal is a good one for both sides (3 years/$7 mil). He is a solid nickle guy, which is an important position in the Titans defense. Now, if they can find a way to bring CB/kick returner Chris Carr back (apparently there has been a lot of interest from other teams though) and take a long hard look at a guy like Nate Washington or Devery Henderson (Washington is scheduled for a visit soon) to help fill that deep threat that this team so sorely needs at WR, then the Titans could be well on their way to a (relatively) successful off-season. The Redskins let them off the hook with that absurd contract they threw at Haynesworth. Now the Titans will need to put that money they saved by not signing him to good use. Getting Collins and Fuller under contract is a good way to start. More to come…

Is there anyone in particular that you hope the Titans pursue in either free agency or the draft?

Do you think there is any way the Titans would move up in the draft and go after Michael Crabtree. If we could get Marvin Harrison at a cheap price do you think he’d be a good fit in Nashville? Just a thought.
