This won’t be our typical game preview-style post, but here are a few things that you need to know for your Super Bowl experience. You provide the nachos, we’ll provide the knowledge.
Sure Pittsburgh is great against the run, but how much will that actually matter against the Cardinals? Listen, there are few adages in the NFL as accurate as “defense wins championships,” and the first responsibility of a defense is to stop the run. Don’t get us wrong, Pittsburgh is the best team in the NFL at stopping the run, but that ability won’t handicap Arizona like it would any [...]

Another week gone by yet I’m still not quite right. I should be in sunny Tampa right now (it’s almost 80 degrees there people), drinking Budweiser on the beach instead of scraping ice off my windshield with a broken cup. A broken cup. God, I’m pathetic. I hate you Ray Lewis, for stabbing stealing my dreams (again)…
There hasn’t been a lot of news over the last few weeks since former defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz took the Detroit job. The main candidates to fill that position still appear to be Dave McGinnis and Chuck Cecil. McGinnis is the safe, proven choice, [...]

Just in from ESPN, Jim Schwartz has reached an agreement to become the next coach of the Detroit Lions, fresh off of a 0-16 season. This has been coming for about a week now, so it should be no surprise to Titans fans. Schwartz put in his time here in Tennessee, and he deserves as much of the credit for turning this defense back into the dominant force that they were under Greg Williams in the mid-to-late 90’s as anybody does. Needless to say, he’s got a helluva job in front of him. Best of luck Schwartzy.
So, who will be [...]

While I’m pretty sure that our jersey’s have been retired in some terrible, terrible… dark, dark place; we’ve actually been retired from this endeavor of athletic greatness for a few years. Sure there were some great matchups, clutch shots, exhilarating wins and losses, fights, etc… Actually, I’m not too sure. It’s a pretty fuzzy game. Either way, it’s pretty funny that acclaimed (and recently hired) ESPN columnist Rick Reilly wrote a piece on a college pastime that is equal parts ridiculously fun and ridiculously horrible. I used to be an athlete…
Speaking of college, apparently my esteemed colleague, Nixon Bishop, has [...]

Very, very sad. And this hurts. This hurts very, very bad. Seeing so many opportunities blown makes me question so many things right now. My own mere existence even. There was nothing I could do but continue to lose my voice, and keep drinking beer. Even as I’m typing this, I’m getting upset. All that I can say right now is that this has been the most fun I’ve ever had following a team, and as painful as this is, they don’t say “there’s always next year” for nothing (whoever “they” are). I’m gonna take some time to heal, but [...]

And guess what? It’s gonna be a “That’s Soooo Raven” Saturday too! It’s also gonna be blood bath. Blood. Bath. We’re so f’ing pumped we can’t hardly stand it. It’s pouring rain, and as the day inches closer to night, temperatures are gonna drop fast in the stadium. Bundle up and get ready to get loud Titans fans!
Now on to more important news…
In our (Nick’s) quest to find the worst that Baltimore and the Ravens have to offer, here’s this really, really awesome video:
These guys seem pretty cool next to the “Raven Maniacs”. At least they now how to party. [...]

This will most likely be the last of the “That’s Soooo Raven” series, as I will retire it until we have to face these creeps again. I’ve had a blast doing this all week, so I hope you have enjoyed reading it as much as I have writing it. Before we get to today’s episode of “TSR”, I’d like to address the last post made on this website by Titan Sized’s very own Kellen Barton (as hard as that is to say right now).
If you haven’t read it, the post concerns former Titan great, QB Steve McNair, and a certain [...]

Why?
It doesn’t seem to me like it should be all that big of a deal.
Initially, it apparently didn’t seem like that big of a deal to Steve McNair either. That was, of course, until a fair number of people in the Nashville area reacted as if McNair went door to door and slapped the face of everybody in Davidson County. A little bit of the story:
Nestor Aparicio, a former Baltimore sports journalist and blogger, put together a Ravens party at Limelight to benefit the Baltimore chapter of the Ronald McDonald House and the Steve McNair Foundation (money would stay right here in Middle Tennessee). A [...]

Today’s installment of “That’s Soooo Raven” will take a look at a beautiful union between two people done Baltimore style. Baltimore Ravens style that is…
First, let’s meet our bride and groom:
Yes folks, that’s Baltimore Raven backup TE Daniel Wilcox and his lovely bride, Shauna. An outdoor marriage? Oh, that’s nice. Wait, what’s that? It’s gonna be at M&T Bank Stadium, homefield of the Baltimore Ravens? And we’re invited? Oh, that is nice. (In all reality, they were married last June, but for the purpose of this post, we’ll just act like it’s coming up this June. Kapeesh?)
Oh my, what beautiful [...]
