State Champs!

Congratulations to the Hillsboro Burros: my alma mater, and your Class 4A Tennessee state champions. Hillsboro beat Maryville today to win their second state championship in school history, against some improbable odds. Maryville not only came into Saturday’s contest as the prohibitive favorite (and 4 time defending champion), but also as the team with the nation’s longest winning streak, at 74. Maryville hadn’t lost since the week before Hillsboro’s last (and first) state championship, in 2003. The Burro Tech represents.

wow. this is the first we here in alabama have heard of this. the deerhunter says congratulations. as does the fogg. also congrats to former burro footballers gandolf the grey, doug e. fresh and squantos. we shall remember and rejoice on sunday for good things, games and friends.

seal things up tomorrow tennessee titans. we will be there to celebrate our first afc south championship since 2002. titan sized 4 life!
