Titans News & Notes

Trying to write this while rooting for the Rays and managing America’s most dangerous 4-3 fantasy football team…

So I had suspected this for a while, and according to Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean:

“The Titans plan to add three former stars to the team’s “Ring of Honor” at halftime of the Monday Night Football game against the Colts… Quarterback Steve McNair, running back Eddie George and tight end Frank Wycheck will be honored during the ceremony at LP Field. Their names will be displayed inside the bowl at the stadium.”

I’m very happy for Eddie and Frank, of course. But like many of you, I’m sure, I have a pretty special place in my heart for Air McNair. It’ll be a thrill to see him Monday Night. We’ll have more on his career and what he meant to all of us at a later date. (I am conflicted though. I want to participate in “Code Blue” but I also really want to wear my Steve jersey. It looks like I’ll have to Titan-layer up)

Dungy (and the Colts) sounds like they’re in desperation mode:

“I think we’ll know if we don’t win this game, we really won’t have a chance to win the division,” “I don’t think, unless the stock market crashes and they cancel the season – that would be about be the only way we could win it if we don’t win this game,” Dungy said. He added, “We should have ourselves ready to play our best game of the year. That’s for sure.”

That’s not exactly, “One game at a time, we’re not looking ahead, blah blah blah..” After playing us, the Colts go home to face New England, then travel to Pittsburgh to play the Steelers. Ouch.

For any of you that care about such low things, Las Vegas isn’t giving the Titans much love; they are a 3 1/2 point favorite. Home field advantage is thought to be worth 3 points. So when teams are considered even, the home team is favored by 3 points…

Check back in soon, we’ll have our Titan Sized game preview and more!
