He had an astounding 301 yards rushing against Memphis, and 223 against Boise State in the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl.  Did this used to be called the Aloha Bowl?  Maybe I’m making that up. I’m sure his line wasn’t great, but he only accounted for 110 yards combined against Virginia Tech, North Carolina, and West Virginia. It doesn’t look like he’s a “tough” runner, and that may come back to bite him against the bigger competition of the NFL.

In the Nashville City Paper, Coach Fisher sung his praises. “We’re going to plug him wherever and whenever we can, because we know he’s a playmaker,” Fisher said. “He has world-class, difference making speed, which is something we need offensively. We’re very excited to place Chris in the offense.” Heimerdinger added to the love fest. “I like what he can do. He gives us a home run hitter and he makes our special teams better as a returner,” Heimerdinger added. “They said we need to add speed and a big-play guy and he can do that in a couple of areas.”

I guess he gives us that Reggie Bush factor, well without the alleged recruiting violations. So I guess he’s Busch-Lite. Sounds tasty. It’s almost like the offensive staff has a new toy to play with. Dinger will be able to find ridiculous ways to get this guy on the field. They can line him up out for WR screens, catching passes out of the backfield, and should be an incredible third down back. Maybe he’s more comparable to Michael Turner. White and Johnson could be a potent combo. Can anyone say Thunder and Lightning? I’m warming up to this pick. At least we have a guy to get the crowd excited.
